The Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce and MarinLink are proud to present the 2010 Marin Green Forum Thursday, April 29th, at 5:30 pm at the Mill Valley Community Center, 180 Camino Alto, Mill Valley, CA 94941.  Once again bringing together business and government leaders in sustainability, the 2010 Forum will focus on why sustainable business practices are vital during the economic downturn ….. and beyond.

This year, the Marin Green Business Forum is honored to feature California 6th District Assembly Member Jared Huffman whose priorities include protecting our environment; fighting global warming while creating jobs and building a “clean and green” 21st century economy; and promoting sustainable water, land use and transportation policies.

A Green Business Leadership panel discussion of the environmental and bottom line benefits of green business initiatives, moderated by Marin County Supervisor Charles McGlashan will follow the keynote address. Select vendors will be on-hand to showcase their green products and services.

Tickets are $35 in advance, $50 after March 31st.  A selection of healthful  food, wine + other beverages will be available for purchase. The 2010 Marin Green Business Forum is sponsored by New Voice of Business, The City of Mill Valley, Clean Conscience Goods, Marin Sanitary Services, EO Products and the County of Marin.

The Marin Green Business Forum debuted in November 2006, a few short months after the premiere of the Academy Award winning film, “An Inconvenient Truth”.  Dedicated to the business community, the objectives of the Forum are simple:
•    Connect with like-minded business visionaries
•    Learn how and why green businesses succeed
•    Learn why sustainability is a successful long term business strategy

With the world’s environment at risk and natural resources diminishing, green business practices have become an imperative.  As green certified businesses, the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce and MarinLink believe it is vital that Marin County take a leadership role in promoting local and global sustainability.  The Green Business Forum of Marin was created to promote both environmental consciousness and sustainability as essential components of successful business planning, business development and economic renewal.  Sustainable business practices create opportunity and create jobs- good for business and good for the bottom line!

Proceeds from the Marin Green Business Forum will benefit the Mill Valley Chamber’s economic development and green business programs and MarinLink’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program.
